An unlucky Dodgers sports reporter has ended up with two arm fractures and six broken ribs after his thrill-seeking ride down the Milwaukee Brewers slide resulted in an unexpected crash landing at the bottom.

Spectrum SportsNet's David Vassegh left his on-air colleagues in hysterics Wednesday while reporting on the Dodgers' trip to the Brewers, and their America Family Ballpark, which has a slide attached to the stadium.

Vassegh had been 'talking for three days' about taking a ride on the attraction, but his long-awaited journey saw him slam into the wall at the bottom and writhe around in agony.

Commentary duo Joe Davis and Nomar Garciaparra, who talked viewers through the incident, were left in hysterics on air, before the coverage cut live to Vassegh, who exclaimed 'Hi guys' while showing off his new arm cast.

Fellow journalist Matthew Moreno reported shortly after that he had spoken to Vassegh, who confirmed he has 'two fractures in his right hand/wrist and six fractured ribs', adding: 'Skinny fat body can't handle it.'

He also thanked the Dodgers trainers, and players Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger and David Price for 'looking out for him' in the aftermath.

It appears the Dodgers reporter has taken the injury in good humor, avoiding any time off air and carrying on with his job as normal.

On the slide itself, it was immediately clear he was slightly uncomfortable with the speed of the ride, as he screamed 'Holy crap' repeatedly on the way down.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, and Vassegh will surely now be forever known for his slide antics as much as his reporting on Los Angeles' sports teams.

In the MLB series itself, the Dodgers have won two games and lost one, with the finale taking place this afternoon.

While many fans will enjoy their rides down the slide, it seems unlikely Vassegh will be returning to the top for another go.
